A Man With No Bad Habits

Once a man was waiting for a taxi.

A beggar came along and asked him for some money. The man ignored him. But being a professional, the beggar kept on pestering him. The man became irritated when he realized that the beggar would not leave him alone unless he parts with some money.

Suddenly an idea struck him.He told the beggar, "I do not have money, but if you tell me what you want to do with the money, I will certainly help you." "I would have bought a cup of tea", replied the beggar.

The man said, "Sorry man. I can offer you a cigarette instead of tea". He then took a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and offered one to the beggar.

The beggar told, "I don't smoke as it is injurious to health."

The man smiled and took a bottle of whisky from his pocket and told the beggar, "Here, take this bottle and enjoy the stuff. It is really good".

The beggar refused by saying, "Alcohol muddles the brain and damages the liver".

The man smiled again. He told the beggar, "I am going to the race course.Come with me and I will arrange for some tickets and we will place bets. If we win, you take the whole amount and leave me alone".

As before, the beggar politely refused the latest offer by saying, "Sorry sir, I can't come with you as betting on horses is a bad habit."

Suddenly the man felt relieved and asked the beggar to come to his home with him. Finally, the beggar's face lit up in anticipation of receiving at least something from the man. But he still had his doubts and asked the man, "Why do you want me to go to your house with you".

The man replied, "My wife always wanted to see how a man with no bad habits looks like."

Note:
I have a lot of bad habits but of course,I won't mention it here! And I'm not a beggar.

Concerned mom

A mom was making fried eggs for her son for breakfast. Suddenly her son (me) burst into the kitchen.

"Careful... Careful!!! Put in some more butter! Oh my God! You're cooking too many at once. Too many! Turn them! Turn them now! We need more butter. Oh my God! Where are we going to get more butter? They're going to stick! Careful... Careful!!! I said be careful! You never listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you crazy? Have you lost your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. Use the salt! The salt!"

The mom stared at him and asked, "What the heck is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?"

The son calmly replied, "I wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving with you in the car."

I used the above joke once when she complained how I drive dangerously but, apparently the joke doesn't work because she still complain how dangerous my driving skills was. I love my concerned mom.

Yes, my car was stolen on Sunday evening. 10 years ago, my bike get stolen and now my car.

For the thief who stole my car, I pray you will have the worst car accident in the future.

My Life

My current life can be summarized into 3 words:

Happy Father's Day

If you are a father and reading this... Happy Father's Day to you.
First of all, I will going to write something about my dad here.

My papa is a very lovely father.
He fetched me to school since I was studied in primary school until I was in Form 3.
He fetched me for 9 years without telling me that he is tired of fetching me.
Got one day, I asked him in angry tone why he came late. But, he say nothing.
That night,I was scolded by my mom by telling me that,"Papa was late because the road was traffic jammed".

My papa is a very clever father.
Before we first move into the new house, he took part for building the cupboard in my room.
He also build the 'fourth floor'.
I remembered I joke with him,"Papa, it is safe? If the whole floor collapse, I'm sure bin si peng (flat)."
Most of the time, 'woodwork;' , plumbing, fixing electric and electronic gadget and many more is done by papa. 

My papa is a very brave father.
Very long time ago, he accidentally cut his skin on the hand when using the electric saw.
He was bleeding so badly until the white bone was exposed.
He was so calm because he didn't shout or something.
He bandaged his own hand and asked me to accompany while he was driving to clinic because he afraid he will faint by losing too much bloods.
Of course, the doctor was shocked.

My papa is a good traveler.
He is a taxi driver and he is so good at recognising road.
He know most of the places,where to go and which short cut to take.
Unlike me, I will sesat most of the time.

My papa is a talented people.
He know how to do Sudoku (without me telling the rules) and able to solve it most of the time.
He know how to swim.
He know how to drive a car, ride a bicycle and motor.
He know how to speak Hokkien, Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Melayu.
He know how to use computer. He even add me in Facebook.
He know how to inspect car engine and change tires.

What I want to say is I have great dad. You and mom is the best treasure in my life.

Beautiful Bedrooms

Sometimes when I look at the pictures of bedroom in certain websites, how I hope to learn Interior Design but my father don't let. Then, I study Actuarial Science which people think this course is to study how to plants tree and milking cow (because it sounds like Agricultural Science). I really admire those designers that poured a lot of a efforts and creativity just to design a bedroom that will satisfied themselves and customers.

If I buy a new house, I will design my bedroom myself!

The Seed

A successful business man was growing old and
knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.
Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children,
he decided to do something different. He called all the young
executives in his company together.

He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO.
I have decided to choose one of you. "The young executives were
Shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one
of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant
the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with
what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then
judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be
the next CEO."

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others,
received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the
story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted
the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had
grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began
to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.
Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.
By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have
a plant and he felt like a failure.
Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he
had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but
he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however.
He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the
seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company
brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.
Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot.
But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick
to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment
of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot
to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety
of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful --
in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and
many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young
executives.

Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees,
and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will
be appointed the next CEO!"

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with
his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to
the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a
failure! Maybe he will have me fired!"

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened
to his seed - Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim,
and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next
Chief Executive Officer!

His name is Jim!" Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow
his seed.

"How could he be the new CEO?" the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this
room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it,
and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds;
they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and
flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you
substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the
only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with
my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new
Chief Executive Officer!"

So, be careful what you plant now;
it will determine what you will reap later..

Brilliant Logos With Hidden Messages

Tostitos


If you look at the center of this logo, you can see two people enjoying a Tostito chip with a bowl of salsa. This logo conveys an idea of people connecting with each other.

Formula 1


At first, this logo might not make much sense. But if you look closely, you’ll see the number 1 in the negative space between the F and the red stripes. I also love how this logo communicates a feeling of speed.

Milwaukee Brewers


The Milwaukee Brewers is a professional baseball team from Milwaukee , Wisconsin (well, duh). Their logo is actually made up of the letters M (on top) and B (below the m). These two letters also form a baseball glove.

Northwest Airlines


This simple looking logo actually carries a lot of information. First of all you can see the letters N and W, the first two letters of the brand name. But what most people don’t see is the compass that points to the Northwest, another reference to the brand name.

This logo doesn’t seem to hide much at first sight, but it gives you a little insight in the philosophy behind the brand. First of all, the yellow swoosh looks like a smile: Amazon wants to have the best customer satisfaction. The swoosh also connects the letters a and z, meaning that this store has everything from a to z.

Toblerone


Toblerone is a chocolate-company from Bern , Switzerland . Bern is sometimes called The City Of Bears . They have incorporated this idea in the Toblerone logo, because if you look closely, you’ll see the silhouette of a bear.

Baskin Robins


The old logo of Baskin Robbins had the number 31 with an arc above it. The new logo took this idea to the next level. The pink parts of the BR still form the number 31, a reference to the 31 flavors.

Sony Vaio


Sony Vaio is a well known brand of laptops. But did you know that the name Vaio logo also had a hidden meaning? Well, the first two letters represent the basic analogue signal. The last two letters look like a 1 and 0, representing the digital signal.

I really love this logo: every letter is made of the number 8.

Carrefour


Carrefour is one of the biggest European retailers, and its also French for crossroads. The logo symbolizes this word via two opposite arrows.
They also added the first letter of the name, because if you look closely you’ll see the letter C in the negative space between the two arrows.

Roxy


Roxy is a company that specializes in clothing and accessories for girls who love snowboarding, surfing The company is actually a part of Quiksilver. The Roxy logo is made of two Quiksilver logos that form a heart.

Unilever


Unilever is one of the biggest producers of food, beverages, cleaning agents and personal care products. They produce a huge amount of different products and they wanted to reflect this in their logo. Each part of the logo has a meaning. For example: the heart represents love, care and health – feeling good, a bird is a symbol of freedom. Relief from daily chores getting more out of life.

Hartford Whalers


This logo also uses a negative space to create the letter H. You can see three different parts: the letter H and W and a whales tail in blue.

This logo might look like a simple letter, but don’t be fooled: you can see a part of an elephants trunk in the negative space inside the letter e.

The Sun logo is one of the most famous ambigrams in the world. You can read the brand name in every direction; both horizontally and vertically. This logo was designed by professor Vaughan Pratt of the Stanford University .

NBC


The NBC (National Broadcasting Company) is one of the biggest American television networks. I think most of you have already seen the peacock in this logo. The peacock has 6 different tail feathers, referring to the six divisions at the time that this logo was created. The peacocks head is flipped to the right to suggest it was looking forward, not back.

GreenLabs


I know this logo looks like a simple, boring green tree, but if you look at the tree crown, you’ll see that it can also be interpreted as a brain. The logo lays emphasis on the strong intellectual capabilities of the companys staff and also reflects green and labs parts of their name!

Big Ten


Big Ten is an academic union which was founded in the year 1896. Until 1990, this union consisted of 10 universities, but in June 1990 Pennsylvania State University was added. They didn’t want to change their name, so they added the number 11 to the logo.

Eighty-20


Eighty-20 is a small consulting firm. Most people think that the logo has nothing to do with the brand name. But the trick is to view the dark squares as 1′s and the light squares as 0′s. Then the top line reads 1010000 and the bottom line reads 0010100, which represent 80 and 20 in binary.

Fedex


This is probably one of the best known logos with a hidden meaning. If you look closely, you’ll see an arrow that’s formed by the letters E and x. This arrow symbolizes speed and precision, two major selling points of this company.

Continental is a manufacturer of tyres. You could actually see this in their logo, because the first two letters create a 3-dimensional tyre.

Presbyterian Logo

The Museum of London logo may look like a modern logo design but it actually represents the geographic area of london as it as grew over time.

The Piano Forest logo may look like a simple text logo with trees above it, but if you take another look you will see that the trees actually represent keys on a piano.

The Treacy Shoes logo is very cute logo with a shoe hidden between the t and s.
