25. Looking back my "2013 Resolution"

My goals for myself this year:
1) Eat more fruits and sleep early.
2) Spend more time with my family and friends.
3) Have a regular exercise and meditation.
4) Enjoy my life and be more adventurous.
5) Be more confident.
My goals as a Future Mathematician and Statistician this year:
1) Master Multivariate Analysis, Stochastic Analysis and Advanced Matrix Algebra.
2) Master the use of Matlab, SAS, R, EXCEL and SPSS.
3) To finish read:
i. The Princeton Companion To Mathematics - Timothy Gowers
ii. Reading Statistics and Research - Schuyler W. Huck
iii. Euler's Gem (The Polyhedron Formula and The Birth of Topology) -David S. Richeson
iv. Prime Obsession (Bernhard Riemann and the Greatest Unsolved Problem in Mathematics) - John Derbyshire
v. Honors Class  (Hilbert's Problems And Their Solvers) - Benjamin H. Yandell
vi. Numerical Analysis for Statisticians - Kenneth Lange
vii.100 Statistical Tests - Gopal K Kanji

Looking back at my list, I'm not doing that much this year.

  • (2) Well, I spent a lot of time with my family especially with my mom. If staying at home and helping her for 365 days doesn't count. I don't know what does.
  • (5) Be more confident. After working at cafe for few months and by learning how to handle my boss, colleagues and customers. I think I'm more confident and comfortable with people. I think I'm quite ok now.
  • I got an A for my Multivariate Analysis, B for Stochastic Analysis and B for Advanced Matrix Algebra. To be honest, if grading system based on understanding of the subject rather than memory power then I think I'm deserved a lower grade. Well, at least I'm passed!
  • I'm able to master R and Excel. Since Matlab and SAS are not free (and I'm not able to download it), I will give it a byebye. SPSS? Next time, maybe...maybe not.
  • I spent my whole November and December month reading Euler's Gem, Prime Obsession, The Honors Class and 100 Statistical Tests. Conclusion: I need to read even more and work harder to achieve my goal.

For the rest of undone goals, I will keep it for next year!

On an unrelated note, I went to my cousin's wedding last Saturday at Sunway Pyramid. I didn't take any photos at the wedding but my mom and I took a few photos outside the wedding hall.

My mom and I at the Sunway Pyramid.

24. I Don't Know

Last Sunday, the water faucet was broken.
I had no other choice but to replace it.

On Monday, after finished working I rushed to the shop to buy a new one.
Then I tried to fix it by my own, but because I 'twisted' it too hard...
the pvc female adapter (I think that's what they called it) pulak broken
After that I rushed to that shop again. Rush here, rush there.

Don't buy cheap thing.
My dad taught me how to fix it.
I don't know. At the end, the water was still dripping from somewhere because I glued it improperly.
I hate fixing pipe.
Lastly I don't know how my dad performs what kind of magic tricks, then...Voila, the pipes fixed itself!

Yesterday, my sister woke me up.
Because I need to fetch her to clinic to get medical check-up for PLKN.
Then she asked me to fetch her to her friend's house at sangkala place.
After that I went to work.
I don't know. I'm not happy at work.
I feel I was taken for granted. Me do this, me do that. Urgh.
I don't know. I just feel I don't want to work anymore.
Yesterday is my last day.

Only left twelve days before the end of the year.
I don't know. I feel I have a lot of things undone.
After two years of studying Master, here I am, still living undecided and unknowing about myself.
Now, when people ask me something, I will only reply,"I will think about it." or "I don't know."
I think that's the best answer.

Kthxbai. Night.

22. The Timekeeper and The Dreamseller

Just done reading The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom last week. It was posted by Pikey two weeks ago in the Facebook as a status. He said the book was nicely written. Curious me find the ebook version to read. The story indeed was written in a simple English yet amazing and inspiring way. This book reminds me of another book: The Dreamseller written by Augusto Cury. I still remember I picked up the book in BBW last year. To be honest, I bought the book because of the beautiful cover (it turns out the story is astonishing and attractive than the cover itself, lucky me).

Two quotes that I like the most in the Time Keeper:

Father Time realized that knowing something and understanding it were not the same thing.
"There is a reason God limits our days.""Why?""To make each one precious."
p/s :This year, I didn't go to BBW.

21. Legoland

I played this game when I was Form Two (11 years ago).
It took me two to three weeks to finish.
Now it takes me roughly less than five hours to finish the whole game. >.<"
Suddenly I feel I want to play it, so I go find and download it.

This is the Menu.

Total of 10 levels

This is how the game looks like

After you finish the game, you will receive a cert with your name.

Maybe I'm older now, the fun of playing doesn't seem the same like last time  anymore. =.="

20. Work, Play, Read, Searching Job

I could sum up my daily routines just in five words: Work, Play, Read & Searching job.
Early in the morning, I will wake up at 8.30 am.
Then I will prepare myself to work at my uncle's cafe.
After I'm finish working at 2.00 pm, I will go home...eat...and play games: Social Empires.

Then I will read book. I'm just finished reading Prime Obsession written by John Derbyshire. It took me five days. Don't ask me to write a review because I got lost halfway. I managed to convince myself to skip through some hazy explanations. I seldom skip when I'm read.

Then at night I will browse through JobStreet to find job because my internet is the most efficient and faster at midnight. Good news: I managed to find company and job that I love to work with. Bad news: Hundreds of people will be competing with me.

-Good luck, Vincent.

19. Languages

I regret. When I was around five or six years old, I decided to choose Cantonese over Hokkien to master. Now none of my family members know how to speak Hokkien except my dad, my aunt (my dad's elder sister), my uncle (my dad's younger brother) and my another uncle (my dad's youngest brother). Once my grandma passed away three years ago, no one speak of that language in my house anymore. That's mean until my generation, the language will completely die out.

I regret. When I was studying in primary school, I decided to choose Malay language over English to master. The reason is because, I thought if I can do well in the country I don't have to worry to go to oversea. Consequences? I have had difficulty when people started using English in conversation and I have had difficulty in writing. I worked so hard and read so many books just to get my English 'corrected'. What a nightmare!

I kinda sad, rather than, regret that my parents didn't send me to Chinese school because knowing Chinese will totally improve my knowledge since there are so many Chinese books out there that is waiting for people to explore. But is ok because I can start now. Better late than never, right? Well, if I need to take six years to master Malay and thirteen years to master English... probably I can take around five to ten years to master Chinese?

p/s: Besides Cantonese, English and Malay, I also want to master Chinese, Japanese and Hokkien because... Lifelong Learning.
p/p/s: That picture kinda nice, right? I generate it by using Tagxedo! You can try it too.

18. Books, Books, Books Everywhere

Today the weather is cold, very cold because whole day has been raining nonstop since 7 am.
Looking around my room ...books...then looking at my own rack...books again... total of seven books that I bought still remain untouched.
1. The New York TIMES Practical Guide To Practically Everything that I bought from Big Bad Wolf last year...
2. Point Estimation of Root Finding Methods
3. Managing Mathematical Projects- with Success!
4. Gradient Flows (in Metric Spaces and in the Space of Probability Measures)...
...three of these I bought from Big Bad Wolf too two years ago...
5. Darwin, The Indelible Stamp that I bought from Kinokuniya four years ago...
6. GOD created the Integers that I bought from MPH five years ago...
7. Loss Models: From Data to Decisions that I bought for my degree course five years ago..
... still sitting on my rack collecting dust.

This week until next week from 6 to 15 Dec, there will be a huge book sale again! Big Bad Wolf at Mines. Thinking whatever to go or not. Hmm..maybe I shouldn't be too greedy to buy too many books...but the temptation is too strong.

I...want...more...BOOKS!

17. Cane

I couldn't sleep after I have dreamt of that horrible dream.
Why always me dream of this kind of shitty dream?
Worst, I able to remember most of my dreams because it is so real and vivid.

I dreamt I cane by a teacher until my left hand bleeds.
Well, I caned by him once during secondary school because I didn't bring my sportswear.

I never like sport. I always find opportunity to skip it.
And I also caned by my Geography teacher once because I failed her test paper.
When I think about my secondary, I have few 'true' friends except those female friends.
Probably because I never fit in any particular groups.
Maybe that's the reason I don't really like my secondary school.

Now I awake at 4 a.m. and couldn't sleep.

Stupid dream.

16. Euler Book Prize

The Euler Book Prize is awarded annually to an author or authors of an outstanding book about mathematics. The Prize is intended to recognize authors of exceptionally well written books with a positive impact on the public's view of mathematics and to encourage the writing of such books.
- Mathematical Association of America.
Books below that won the Euler Book Prize from year 2007 - 2013.

          2007                                                        2008                                                2009

           2011                                                      2012                                               2013

Euler's Gem: The Polyhedron Formula and The Birth of Topology written by Dr David S. Richeson won the Euler Book Prize in the year 2010.

2010

This colourful book provides reader (especially for lay person and undergraduate) with a good and easy to grasp topology concept by using some simple formulas and diagrams. The author introduces one of the most famous mathematician, Leonhard Euler (pronounce as oiler) at the beginning of the book. Euler made various contributions in different field of mathematics which include number theory, calculus, differential equation, probability and of course, topology.

This book also discusses some well-known challenging problems such  as Seven Bridges of Königsberg, The Four Colour Theorem, and one of the most famous Millennium Prize Problems: Poincaré's Conjecture.

At the end of the epilogue, the author concludes with one of the most famous Poincaré's quote:
The scientist does not study nature because it is useful to do so. He studies it because he takes pleasure in it, and he takes pleasure in it because it is beautiful. If nature were not beautiful it would not be worth knowing, and life would not be worth living...
I think the same quote applies to mathematician and statistician.

15. H.B.

Sudah tua setahun lagi.

=.=

Update:
Really thanks for all the people that wished me. Really appreciate it.
To that person who has some 'ways to check'. Thanks! Haha.

This year I celebrated my birthday. With reading books and watching movie. At home.

14. Metropolis-Hastings Algorithm

Currently I'm working on my project that involves Monte Carlo Simulation.
The problem is: I'm not good at it.
I'm working at it for almost 2,3 months.
Probably I'm... stalling? because lazy is a strong word. =.=

One of the algorithms that I need to use is Metropolis-Hastings algorithm.
I found this picture when I wikipedia-ing the algorithm info.

The result of three Markov chains running on the 3D Rosenbrock function using the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm. The algorithm samples from regions where the posterior probability is high and the chains begin to mix in these regions. The approximate position of the maximum has been illuminated. Note that the red points are the ones that remain after the burn-in process. The earlier ones have been discarded. Source: Wikipedia

I don't know why.
But I think this is one of the most beautiful picture in the world.

Probably it looks like the knowledge of everything intertwine as ONE. Gorgeous~~

p/s: Suddenly I have a strong feeling to dig in more about this algorithm.

13. Empty field -> Hospital

There is a huge empty field, in front of my house, that only full of grass and beautiful big trees. I believe everyone including the animals live in there are happy with that empty field.  After 25 years starting from the day I was born, finally the 'owner' of that empty field decided to make use of that field.

What he's gonna do?
I told you in the title...
Yes, he decided to build a damn hospital in front of my neighbourhood area after freaking ...25 years. Come on... after 25 years???
In the last 25 years, why choose now?
When my mom told me, I didn't believe it at all. And I'm not happy too.
But today, they have completely surrounded the whole area with the metal barrier thingy.

I can foresee he will chopped down all the big trees that protected us from the sun and we will have a very noisy construction noise soon. Ugh. Damn it.

p/s: Probably they thought Hospital Besar Kuala Lumpur which is situated 4.9 km (12 mins) away from our house is NOT close enough. Thanks a lot.

12. Cashier

I was assigned by my aunt to be a cashier yesterday.
Well, it was an easier job than making a drink.
I still don't get it why customer haven't puke after drinking my teh tarik..
Let's hope they won't get diarrhea...haha.
One thing I don't like about being the cashier is using the system.
The system is a bit messy and the word is too small! Urgh.
Another thing I hate is counting coins especially the new coin and old coin.

The noble statement issued by Bank Negara:

"This series of new coins are smaller and lighter making its more user-friendly for the public. The yellow and silver coloured coins and the edge designs enable the public and also the visually impaired to identify and distinguish the different denominations... "
User-friendly? Wut?
I almost laughed when our PM said it is a good move for blind people because it will be easier for them to distinguish between the currency values. Hello, they need to learn back how to compare the coins, how is it easier??? Maybe I'm a bit prejudice toward him but I feel whatever what he did and do, or issue is stupid.

Yesterday, I had two funny cases.
One, a group of customers were paying their bill.
I think more than 5 or 6 people.
So I read each items in the system for them because we're afraid we will key-in wrongly.
They 'took' that opportunity to ask me lot of questions.
"Why your dad is not a cashier today?" "Do you still studying?" "Are you having a holiday?"

In the middle of counting the money, they also asked a lot of questions and making me difficult to concentrate.
I'm just smiled and waved. LOL.

Two, one handsome guy was paying for his bill.
We will usually ask," Are you a member?"
Every member entitled to 25 percent discount.
He said no but he lives in the apartment.
Then my aunt said no discount will be given.

After I'm finished printing the bill and counting the money, then he said,"Oh but I'm working in Prudential" after looking at the Member chart.
I was like... O.O
Why didn't you say so earlier???
Once you're done printing the bill, the system will automatically record the data. Kinda mafan to reverse it back.
Fine, since you have that kind of innocent look...I asked my aunt to reverse it back...Haha.
He waited quite long.
I don't think he will come again.  LOL.

11. Hundred Statistical Tests

In statistics, we have countless of tests to perform on the data.
But what kind of  test to use?

What kind of test for what kind of data?
Under what condition, the test can be performed?

This book will serves as a guide book for young statistician and the user of statistics.
User is, of course, required to know:

1. What kind of data that they are usinglinear or circular data?
2. Amount of sample for testing1 sample, 2 samples or many samples?
3. Using parametric test or non-parametric test?

Most of the tests will be using hypothesis testing to test mean, variance, median, randomness or distribution. Last but not least, user is expected to know whatever to use one or two-tailed test before the test is even conducted. This is crucial for making a right decision.

I randomly pick one of the pages to serve as a sample. This test is used to investigate the difference of the means for two populations. In this example, the author wish to find: Is there a difference between average of two pack of potato crisps (in term of weights)?

Well, good thing you don't have to read through all the statistics books just to find the test you want. Honestly, this is one of the good statistics book because the author gives brief objective of the test at the beginning, the limitations of the test, methods (including test statistic and statistics table), example that related to real life application and lastly numerical calculation at the end of the test. This book has few setbacks such as the example is made to be as simple as possible and the full data is not there, but this will not prevent user from understand the test.

p/s: I think as a statistician, one must know what kind of  test that need to perform on the data, how to derive a simple test statistic like the example above and most importantly making a right decision.

10. Statistics

I never liked Statistics in the first place when I first studied it during Form 4, 5 and 6, especially the part Combination and Permutation. I love Mathematics more.

But here I am...doing Master of Mathematical Sciences major in Statistics. After (almost finishing) Master, I realized I don't really like Mathematics. Too abstract.

After studied Statistics for five years ( three years in Degree and two years in Master), I'm quite curious to know how many things that I learnt. So, I check the Wiki to know what area that I have covered...

My check list:

The black line is the part that I have covered and the red circle is the part that I specialized in.

For Descriptive Statistics,
 I almost done all.

For Data Collection,
only left the Statistical Power that I couldn't understand....

For Statistical Inference,
I think I'm doing quite well...only left a few...

For Correlation and Regression Analysis,

I learnt Regression Model during Degree and Linear Model during Master but here, I feel I only covered small area of it...

For Categorical, Multivariate, Time Series and Survival Analysis
I have covered Multivariate Analysis during Master and Time Series Analysis for project.

Conclusion: I still have a long way to go...

9. Facebook

The longest time I deactivate my Facebook before I activate it back is eight months...
Today I deactivate it again...I don't know why...
I think I spend too much time...

Let's see how long I can tahan this time before I press the "Reactivate Account"...
Well, I still have this blog and Twitter!

...is time to spam my twitter like no tomorrow!

8. Hobbies

I was writing my resume...
Some of the CV that I found in internet, they put Interest/Hobbies...
I don't really know what to put...I just put reading books and jogging...

But I only jogging once a month week ... does it count?

Then I realised that I don't have other hobbies except collecting stamps, reading and jogging...
I looked at my cupboard...I found my sketch book...
I looked at my garden... hmm...what an ugly garden...

OK, I decided my new hobbies will be drawing and gardening..
Let's hope I won't kill the plants...

7. My Goals

Only left one more week...
But here I'm still struggling...
After reading the hundred slides, I'm started to get headache...
I took a nap for two hours...
I started to think probably I'm not a math or stat person...
If I feel I'm suffering now, I can't even imagine what gonna happen for the future..

Only left one more month...
Then the year will end...

My goals for myself this year:
1) Eat more fruits and sleep early.
2) Spend more time with my family and friends.
3) Have a regular excise and meditation.
4) Enjoy my life and be more adventurous.
5) Be more confident.
My goals as a Future Mathematician and Statistician this year:
1) Master Multivariate Analysis, Stochastic Analysis and Advanced Matrix Algebra. 2) Master the use of Matlab, SAS, R, EXCEL and SPSS.3) To finish read:
i. The Princeton Companion To Mathematics - Timothy Gowers
ii. Reading Statistics and Research - Schuyler W. Huck
iii. Euler's Gem (The Polyhedron Formula and The Birth of Topology) -David S. Richeson
iv. Prime Obsession (Bernhard Riemann and the Greatest Unsolved Problem in Mathematics) - John Derbyshire
v. The Honors Class  (Hilbert's Problems And Their Solvers) - Benjamin H. Yandell
vi. Numerical Analysis for Statisticians - Kenneth Lange
vii.100 Statistical Tests - Gopal K Kanji

Hmm, looks like I'm going to fail to achieve my goal this year...
Come on, Vincent. You can do it...maybe not.

4. The History of Mathematics

Sometimes I feel learning mathematics will be incomplete without studying its own history. Mathematics has started since 5000 years ago from the beginning of learning in counting number where the number systems and symbols were created to indicate the number of objects.

Mathematics has developed from the civilizations in Egypt (1650 b.c) and our knowledge of mathematics from Egypt was believed to comes from Rhind Papyrus and Moscow Papyrus. This is also an era where the beginning of problems like rational numbers, approximating the area of circle, and finding the quadratic equations.

Then mathematics started to advance in other civilizations as well and most mathematicians continuously sacrificed their time to contribute some knowledge by solving many hard and difficult problems. Famous problems in mathematics involve squaring the circle, measurement of Earth, estimating the value of pi, and last but not least Fibonacci and Pythagorean problem.

Mathematics has been developed so far today because our dedicated mathematicians like Euclid, Diophantus, Fibonacci, Newton, Bernoulli, Laplace Fermat, Euler, Gauss and many more committed their life in mathematics.
All these were honored in their generations, and
were the glory of their names.
There be of them, that have left a name behind
them, that their praises might be reported.
And some there be, which have no memorial; who
are perished, as though they had never been born; and
their children after them.
ECCESIASTICUS 44:7-9
And me myself hope to contribute some knowledge in mathematics one day too.

3. Importance of Good Habits

My dad bought me this book when I was still in primary school. He forced advised me to practice my English by writing at least one essay for everyday. I remember he locked me inside the room with him one day and asked me to start from the first page. That's my first day and my last day (he gave up because I couldn't start at all). That was also my first day fear of English. Well, apparently I didn't touch that book much after that day.

I was reading the book and came across an article about the importance of good habits. Here what it says:
Good habits are important for good living. No one can live a good and happy life, if he does not have good habits.
Good habits mean that we should not do things that are harmful to us and to others. Whatever we do must be good for us and for others.
Among the good habits are, going to bed early and waking up early, keeping ourselves clean, eating good food, avoiding food and drinks that are harmful to us, keeping ourselves fit through exercise, avoiding smoking, and so on.
Other good habits include, reading good books, watching good television programmes, speaking politely, avoiding fights and quarrels, helping others and understanding the problems of people who are less fortunate than we are.
I did most of it except the exercise part ( I hate exercise!) and going to bed early (I'm an owl! so it doesn't count). That is a simple but good article about the importance of having good habits. Maybe I can make it as my new resolution for next year.

p/s: About reading good books, this is indeed a good book and I'm read a lot these days. Hope I will continue to do so.

1. Closet

I opened my closet, I looked at it carefully...only to realised that there is a spiderweb in it.
I wonder how long I didn't clean my closet.
I noticed some of the shirts are not belong to me, some of it too small (probably 10 years ago punya), some of it too big (probably I borrowed from dad or brother), and some of it too outdated.
Consider my closet turnover is once a year...that's all probably what I have. *sigh*
Maybe I should really buy some better clothes.

On the other hand, my project started eleven weeks ago.
I managed to understand most of the part in my main journal.
CONGRATS!
I submitted my report on Wednesday but I have a feeling Dr. Y won't be happy.
Although I found no mistake but I think I cut a lot information and I forgot to define my notations. >.<''
BRAVO!
Next week, I'm going to present...I hope I can deliver my presentation as best as possible and  I can compensate the thing that lacked of in my report.
Basically, my Project One will going to end soon.

For Project Two, is the one that I worry the most.
I don't know how to do, neither do my supervisor, neither do all the 11 books that I read. fml.

I feel like I want to hug someone. =(

Half Graduate!

Finally I took all my final papers!
Ten subjects...ten difficult subjects...especially yesterday one.

My lecturer is a liar!
He said,"Very easy one, very easy one...don't worryyy".
He also gave us some tips...but..
After I flipped through the paper, my heart stopped beating for two seconds.
I finally understand what he means.
Very easy my arse...I think he means very easy to die...
Don't worry? after you die, what else you need to worry?

Then I say straight to him,"Sir, nobody happy."
My "A" probably will fly way just like that. T.T
After the final, we planning to have dinner for celebration but I lost all my mood to eat anything.
So, all of us just balik rumah. I also balik rumah and menangis.
Y U NO GIVE ME A???

However I already half graduate.
Now, only left my project with my supervisor.
Then I can GRADUATE!
Well at least I need not to attend classes anymore. Hurray!

Meanwhile let's have holiday for 1 week!

My course

Haihz,
Those assignments are really killing me.
Everyday I tried to solve at least one question.
But ended up I used several days to solve 1 question.
Not sure I really couldn't 'see' the question or I'm just a plain idiot.

Next week will be Week 8...
Here I am, still trying to solve the FIRST assignment of every subjects.
Not to mention Stochastic haven't had any assignment yet. (I can't even imagine how tough the question can be since the subject is so killing me).

Thinking of doing PhD, but now I rather give up.
Comparing myself with overseas students, only those smart students will go to Master or PhD.
Unfortunately and definitely I'm not those smart student.

Dr Chin told us that,"Only smart people will go to PhD, those less smart...will take Master."
After the class, he will tell us some stories to demotivate us about studying Master. (every fucking week!)
Haha... then I will started to imagine,"Why am I here?". (damn funny wei)
No doubt his class is more boring and enjoyable compared with last time.

This is how I look like when....

... he asked me some questions...

...he told us that this subject is very easy...

...he asked us whatever we understand the subject or not...

I'm really really do not know why every week I feel so demotivated to study.
Probably I stayed at home/room too long?
Probably the subject is too easy and too difficult?
Probably I lack of motivation?

The First and The Last Two Choices

I'm thinking if one day I will be facing back the two choices...
Will I be making different kind of choice ?

Life full of choices.
Some people prefer intangible while others prefer tangible...
Some people prefer long term while others prefer short term...
Some people prefer imaginary while others prefer real...
Some people prefer no competition while others prefer fierce competition...
Some people prefer many while others prefer one...

Ironically, everything I do I do it for you.

That day, I have decided my purpose of life is one and the only one...

...to fulfill my ambition.

-I will stay but my life is short.

Sunday, February 3, 2013

Your fault, Carlsberg.

I was driving from Carrefour AEON Wangsa Maju back to my home just now.
On the way, the road was slippery because of the rain...my car almost bang other cars TWICE because the car was losing control. TWICE!

Oh my goodness...my heart almost stopped beating for three seconds.
I think probably that is the longest three seconds in my life, other than sitting an exam.
Luckily there are no car beside me.

What a luck I have there....

I really hate driving under these three conditions...
- raining
- at night OR
- public holiday or got pasar malam near my house.
- ONE MORE...when I fcking tired.

In addition, I feel ashamed when I was pushing a trolley full of Carlsberg for my uncle's business. All the people looked at me like he-is-going-to-suicide kinda face. Probably they think I'm going to shower by using Carlsberg or something.

ALSO TWICE!

I made two trips. The first trip, I triggered my car alarm accidentally when I was loading the box. Since my car was facing the mountain area, it's sounds like an echo blasting the whole area. I tried to hide my face. Oh well, not that successful because I'm wearing a white shirt.

Lesson: Don't wear white shirt.

Travel

I just finished read Around The World in  Eighty Days by Jules Verne.
I knew that no matter how much books that I read but the journey itself is totally different.
In Chinese proverb, there is a saying,"It is better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books".

I hope I can travel around the world with someone that special to me too.
I hope we can enjoy the deliciousness of the foods, the beauty of the scenery and the uniqueness of the different cultures.

My friend asked me once, if I have money to travel where will it be...

I want to travel to Australia because there are so many places to explore and so many animals to see.
I want to travel to Italy because the architecture is totally amazing.
I want to travel to Japan because the food, culture, festival, language and the people attract me. I want to eat the dorayaki, takoyaki and the real sushi made in Japan. I also want to see sakura and visit some Japanese temples.
I want to travel to Egypt because I want to see with my own eyes the ancient building pyramid described by the book.
I want to travel to Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, UK and many other countries.

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
